Based upon the results of my questionnaire I have decided to aim the trailer at the age range of 15-20 years old. This will allow me to use the results in the questionnaire to the best effect as the largest range of people I questioned fall into this category. The largest gender of people I interviewed was Male, this is important to my results as I aim to aim the trailer towards that gender.
From the results of the questionnaire I have concluded that the most popular sub-genre of the film is comedy and action. For this reason I will try to incorporate these into the movie trailer allowing for the trailer to appeal to both audiences. Going against conventions and audience results I may include essences of romance, this will allow for the trailer to appeal to more of an audience and allow for it to be more diverse.
I will also be setting the movie within the city, this is mainly because of ease of access when filming and also because it is the most appealing based upon questionnaire results. Unusually the audience want the trailer to be set in the Ghetto and the Country-Side, this goes against conventions so I may try and implement it into the trailer.
Unusually the audience results state that they would like 1 main actor in the film, this goes against conventions as usually crime movies will be used as a duo so that comedy can occur between the two main actors. Going against the questionnaire results I will be using two main actors in the trailer.
In question 7, the questionnaire results are tied between Formal Attire and Casual Attire. In the movie trailer I will be using both of these costumes, this will allow me to easily distinguish the heros and the villains within the trailer without having to include a back-story.
The results of the questionnaire show that the audience would prefer a Mysterious villain, I will include this within my movie trailer as it allows me to use different camera angles and lightening allowing for the villain to remain unknown and add an element of mystery into the movie trailer.
Based upon the results of the questionnaire, the viewers are divided between the gender of the main actors, from these results I could include one female and one male main actor, this would be going against conventions as usually the main actors in a police film are of the same gender.
The results of the questionnaire show that all of the users who ticked Action and Comedy both would prefer a focus upon those in the trailer with less of a focus upon crime, this would allow the trailer to appeal to the largest audience without taking away from other audiences.
The results of the questionnaire show a large amount of viewers would prefer to have classic rock as the theme music behind the movie, this could cause an issue because of Copyright. I will try to find a suitable audio track without copyright or try and ask for permission from the creators. I could also ask my colleagues to create an audio track, but this would no longer be "Classic" Rock.
From the results of question 13, the interviewee's of the questionnaire would prefer for a focus upon the villain and hero on the magazine cover, but it is closely followed by a focus upon a villain. The difficulty with this is that with a mysterious villain it will be hard to focus upon them on a movie cover, I may have to focus upon the two main actors which was the least voted between the three.
A large portion of the viewers like the conventions of a crime movie, this would include, gunfire, mystery's and murder, for this reason I will include these conventions in the trailer to appease the audience and to allow for the context of the trailer to be easily recognised.
Finally the results of the questionnaire show that the context of the movie and trailer should focus upon Robbery. Although this is a good idea and context for a crime movie it will be hard to create the illusion of a robbery with the funding and resources I have. For this reason I may have to change the context of the movie into Kidnapping or Murder.
