Day 10.3: Planning - Location

For the locations within my film I will need to have, an area that could pass as a police chiefs office, an open fielded area which can be used for other sections of the trailer including the mysterious and masked villain, an area with dim lighting that has access to a telephone, a location where I can achieve a long shot on Stoke-on-Trent to establish the scene and underground/tunnelled area to be used in the kidnapping scene of the trailer.
For the area that could pass as a police chiefs office I could use, my own home. I will need to gain permission from the other occupants of the home to gain permission to film here and I will need to fill in a risk assessment to outline the general risks of filming within my own home. I will also need a time where the two main actors are free together along with me so that all 3 of them can be in the scene at the same time as they will all be seen on the screen at the same time. I could also ask for permission from the local police station for permission to film the inside and/or outside of their building in longton to give the impression of the scene taking place within a police station, If I am only given permission to use the outside of the building I can use editing to cut seamlessly to also give the impression of that it is filmed within the police station.
For the open fielded area I could use Longton Park, for permission to film within Longton Park I will need to contact the local council for permission to film in that area, I will also need to fill in a risk assessment to outline all the possible risks of filming within an open, secluded and forested area. I will also need to find a timescale and slot that is suitable with the opening times of the park and the times available to the two main actors. Another factor I will need to take into account is the weather, the weather may affect my recording times and open opportunities as I will need a range of weather, clear skies and possibly some light/medium rain.
Another area I am considering using within my film trailer is the behind section of phoenix park, I have chosen this area as it has an open field, buildings and a tunnel which can all be used in the trailer that I am creating. I will need to gain permission from the local business if I choose to film the buildings in the area. I will also need to fill in a risk assessment which will outline the risks of filming within that area.

For the longshot of Stoke-On-Trent I will need to find a high-area where I can get a good view. I know of a few areas with this kind of shot potential, I will need to conduct more research into these areas to pick a certain one to use in the trailer.
