This is the initial and first cut of the movie that I have created;
From this I have heavily changed the work based upon audience feedback, I have changed the placement of the movie title and changed the anchorage at the end of the film as to make it seem less like a short-film and more of a movie trailer. I have also included more sound effects and character voiceovers as to allow for the story to flow more easily and grab the attention of the audience.
This is the final cut of the movie trailer that I have created;
Here is the first edit of the movie poster that I have created;
From this I have mostly kept the theme of the poster the same as to allow for the movie and poster to have a connection. Based upon feedback this edit of the magazine was highly praised except for the Anchorage at the bottom, for this reason in the final edit I have changed the anchorage as to allow for the magazine to relate more to the movie and seem less general and more specific.
Here is the final edit of the movie poster that I have created;
Based upon the audience feedback that I have received for my print product, I believe that the print product is produced well and allows for the theme of the movie to be represented easily.
My print product for the poster is heavily based upon the movie trailer which I have created, this has allowed me to easily relate the two images and create a brand identity.
I first uploaded my feedback to Facebook to allow my friends to comment on the work and help me find ways to improve it, from the results of t he feedback I have garnered that the poster is liked highly in its current state, for this reason I chose to make minimal changes to the poster than what it is in the first draft.
The feedback that I had received on the product stated that I needed to change the Anchorage at the bottom of the poster from the standard Lorem Ipsum. In the final draft of the product I have changed this as to just state the producers, actors and other film roles as to make it more appropriate to the product and original.
To maintain the connection with the film I decided to retain the usage of enigma code through the poster product, I decided to shadow the background and the main actor on the poster. Based upon the drafts that I had completed before this I had decided to remove the Monkey Mask from the background of the image as it was not rated highly and looked "cheap", for this reason I decided to maintain a shadowed background as to create illusion and emphasise the enigma code.
Here is a print screen of a Skype conversation where the initial draft was shown without the usage of the monkey mask in the background.
In the evaluation section of the Media Product I have used a large range of different technologies, these include a;
Blog - I have used the blog throughout the evaluation section of my Media Product, I have used images from other sections of work that I have created or images from the product itself that I have created. I have also linked to videos during my evaluation, this is to allow the reader to easily view the product that I have created and the blog has the functionality to do this. The video links are YouTube embedded links which allow for a direct link towards YouTube allowing the main video product that I have created and uploaded to YouTube to also be easily accesible on the blog.
Social Networks - I have used social networking throughout the evaluation section of my Media Product, I have used a range of Facebook, YouTube & Skype, this has allowed me to have a large and varied audience as to what I have linked my evaluation to. I have used these social networking tools to link to the blog and to the video directly I have also received feedback through this system as well.
In the production section of the Media Product I have used a large range of different technologies, these include a;
Vidya Camera - HD - I have used a HD video camera which will allow me to easily record the footage for the trailer that I was creating the usage of HD allows it to be of the highest of quality so that it is more professional than a low quality movie product.
Macs & PC - I have used a range of different types of computers during this product, I have used a mac while at college which has allowed me to easily and effectively edit and upload the video clips that I have recorded with the HD video camera. While at home or away from college I have used a PC to create the ancillary product using photoshop, I have done this as I am more familiar with the usage of PC over macs this allows me to more easily create the product than it would if I would have to learn and the keybindings and shortcuts on a mac.
Photoshop - I have used photoshop to create the ancillary product for the movie trailer, this has allowed me to easily edit and modify the images that I have used to create the product, this has allowed me to create a more professional product and for the product to be more relatable towards the movie trailer that I have created. Here is an example of an image that I have manipulated using photoshop.
Premiere Pro - I have used premiere pro to create and edit the clips for the movie trailer, this has easily allowed me to create a profesional and sophisticated product with the use of effects on the movie clips to conjoin them and to also use audio affects which are also easily edited and used within the clips to create the full product.
Audacity - I have used audacity to record and edit voice clips for the movie trailer product, this has allowed me to easily edit the voice recordings before having to use them in the clips that I have recorded.
Still Camera - I have used a still camera to take pictures for the ancillary product that I have created, I have used a still camera over still shots in recording as the pictures will be of a higher quality and size allowing for me to more easily edit them without having to lower the quality of the product that I am creating, here is an example of a photo that I have taken. This photo is before I have edited it in photoshop like above.
First Cut - I have created a first cut using Premier Pro, this has allowed me to easily upload it to a social networking site to seek feedback for the work that I have created and to learn what I need to edit and change and what to keep the same, the social networking site I chose to upload this to is Youtube as it allows me to easily distribute the product and it is easy to leave comments on the product.
\[o.o\]* Code means where I need to insert a something more to reference the work, but I am unable to do so at college.
In the research and planning section of the Media Product I have used a large range of different technologies, these include a;
Blog - I have used a blog which has allowed me to easily access and edit my work and information anywhere with access to the internet, it has also allowed me to easily distribute it through social media networks as a URL to a blog site is easier to distribute than a powerpoint that will have to be constantly updated.
Feedback - Online: I have also received feedback online through the blog for my Research and Planning, this has been easy to achieve as my blog URL is easy to distribute, the social networking sites and tools that I have used include, Skype & Facebook. The blog is also always live which allows viewers to constantly check it and leave feedback on the site.
Linking Videos & Images - I have linked videos and images onto my blog for the research and planing section of the coursework, I have done this so it will easily allow me to reference and show sections of movie trailer and posters that I have taken inspiration from in my own product, this allows me to easily reference my work at a later date.
Social Networks: I have used multiple social networks during my research and planning section of the movie product, these include, Facebook & Skype, I have chosen to use these two social networking tools as it allows me easily and effectively distribute the feedback and to source the feedback when needed.
Based upon the results of my questionnaire I have decided to aim the trailer at the age range of 15-20 years old. This will allow me to use the results in the questionnaire to the best effect as the largest range of people I questioned fall into this category. The largest gender of people I interviewed was Male, this is important to my results as I aim to aim the trailer towards that gender. To cater for my audience I have stuck with the same genre of film that I had planned to throughout the project, this is Action/Crime, though I had dropped the comedy section of the trailer as it turned out to not fit as well as expected within the video. The use of camera within the trailer also appealed to my target audience as I included small and short clips which allowed for the action to be fast and easy to recognise. I believe that I have met the aims of my project, although I had to make changes to the product within the centre of it as I was lacking another actor, I believe that it still was appropriate and well done. I have been given feedback from my audience after viewing the first and final cut, here it is;
The feedback that I have received on the trailer is mostly positive and comments upon a section that they had enjoyed the most or thought was well done, another comment has stated that the sense of the enigma code was well portrayed but the cuts within the video lasted too long and could be improved with faster cuts, I have taken this advice and have improved the speed of the cuts by shortening them, adding a fade to black and allowing for the trailer to be more action orientated, but still allowing for a sense of story and mystery. Here is a print-screen of the before and after shots of my editing, as you can see I have decreased the length of the shots and changed them around to make it more appropriate and action oriented. Another change that I have made during production was to remove one of the main actors from the film, I had to have done this due to unforeseen circumstances of him being unavailable when needed often due to work schedules, this required me to change the narrative of the story and I also had to lose the comedy emphasise of the film as there was no way to appropriately show the comedy with only one main actor, for this reason I made the trailer more action and crime related which also allowed for a more serious narrative than originally planned. I have also edited the still frames within the trailer as they appear suddenly and seem sort-of out of place, for this reason I have added a fade from black on these images which allows for the to appear at a more steady ready than suddenly appearing to the viewer, this allows for the trailer to be higher quality and more appropriate.
